Granvia has reached financial close on the refinancing of the R1 Expressway PPP.
The project involves the design, build, financing, operations and maintenance of a 52 kilometre section of the 2-by-2 lane motorway, which connects the towns of Nitra and Tekovske Nemce and bypasses the city of Banska Bystrica.
This was the first PPP project in Slovakia, originally closing in August 2009. The project is now fully operational and will be in concession until July 2041. The refinancing used a €1.24 billion bond underwritten by Deutsche Bank and Natixis.
As well as auditing this refinancing model, Operis has had other roles including the audit of the original financial close model in 2009 and an audit of the updated operating model in 2012.
