Corporate Social Responsibility

Operis understands it has a responsibility to act as a good corporate citizen not just in the UK but all around the world.

Giving Something Back

Operis participates in a range of activities throughout the year which are organised by charities and other good causes. All proceeds go towards nominated charities. Recent examples include:

Volunteering Scheme

Operis employees dedicate 20 hours of working time a year to undertaking charitable work.

Local Schools

Given that crunching numbers is a skill of ours, our team have helped support local schools by dedicating time to teaching children maths out of class hours.

City Run

In support of the Seeing is Believing charity, an initiative to help tackle avoidable blindness around the world, our team participated in the 5km corporate Standard Chartered Great City Race in London.

Our Employees

Equal Opportunities

It is the policy of Operis to give equal opportunity in employment regardless of sex, sexual orientation, marital status, race, age, disability, religion or ethnic origin. This applies to recruitment, training, pay, conditions of employment, allocation of work and promotion.

Dignity at Work

Operis recognises that bullying, harassment and victimisation undermines an individual’s dignity and can have a negative impact on the provision of services. It is our policy therefore to treat seriously and sensitively all complaints relating to bullying and harassment.

Health & Safety

The Management of Operis recognises and accepts its responsibility to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of all its employees, contractors, visitors and those members of the public who may visit the firm’s offices. It is the company’s aim to promote, set and maintain the highest standards for health, safety and welfare matters.

Our Business

Equality

People are at the core of the Operis culture, whether employees, clients, partners or suppliers. Operis prides itself on its collaborative approach that thrives on a diverse and inclusive environment. The firm is fully committed to fostering a culture of inclusion where everyone is valued and respected, regardless of any type of disability, and creating an accessible environment, both digitally and physically.

Women in Finance Charter

As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, Operis is proud to be a signatory of the Women in Finance Charter. Created by HM Treasury the Charter is a pledge to work together to build a more balanced and fair financial industry in the UK.

The Environment

Operis recognises that in pursuing its commercial interests it also has a responsibility, where appropriate and relevant, towards the wider environment. By exercising proper control over its activities, Operis will, where practical, promote the use of sustainable resources and discourage wasteful or damaging practices.

Modern Slavery Act

Operis is committed to ensuring that the way in which we conduct our business and dealings with our suppliers reflects our values, our respect for human rights and our belief that everyone should be treated with dignity. We are committed to showing that our practices combat modern slavery and human trafficking, and to working with and encouraging our suppliers as they uphold the principles in this statement.

Anti-Money Laundering

Operis takes money laundering seriously and have put comprehensive policies and procedures in place to prevent and detect it in line with the Money Laundering Regulations of 2007 and the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. In doing so, Operis require identification of an officer or director of a customer company, which will be retained within the firm’s Know Your Customer (KYC) register.

Bribery & Gifts

It is the policy of Operis to conduct business in an honest way, and without the use of corrupt practices or acts of bribery to obtain an unfair advantage, in line with the UK Bribery Act 2010.
