The L’Erable Wind Farm in Quebec, Canada reached financial close on 10th May 2012. The project involves the construction of a 100MW wind farm in Ste-Sophie’d’Halifax, a municipality in the centre-du-Quebec region of Quebec. The power produced will be sold under a 20-year power purchase agreement with Hydro Quebec, similar to the agreements between Hydro Quebec and Kruger Energy for the Montérégie Wind Farm, a similar project in which Operis was also involved in.
On this occasion, Operis provided a full model audit including tax and accounting advice and sensitivity analysis, for the sponsors Enerfin, a subsidiary of the Spanish energy company Enervento. Operis was appointed by National Bank Financial, who were lenders on the project along with Sun Life.
