On May 25, 2016, Prime, Balfour Beatty and HICL reached financial close on a landmark PPP Project to deliver 14 Primary Care Centres in Ireland.
The new facilities will be built in Dublin, as well as at locations in Galway, Kildare, Limerick, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Waterford, Tipperary and Wexford. They will be delivered over a 27 month period and the capital value of the deal is around €140m.
This is the first time that the procurement of Primary Care Centres has been bundled in this way and is also the first such PPP project in Ireland. It is hoped that the success of the project will lead to it becoming a pathfinder for future projects.
In its role as financial advisor to the successful consortium, Operis was responsible for determining the financial structure of the project, preparing the financial model to support the project and running a funding competition to appoint senior debt providers to fund the project.
