Bids have been submitted for the Montreal University Hospital Centre (CHUM) project in Montreal, Canada. Operis were mandated by the CHUM Collectif consortium, one of the two bidders at this stage.
The new 772-bed hospital will replace three older teaching hospitals currently in use and it will be among the largest university hospital centres in North America. Construction of the hospital is expected to take nine years, with part of the hospital becoming active after five years. A thirty year concession period will follow the construction phase, during which the winning bidder will maintain the new site.
The CHUM Collectif consortium comprises of HCP Social Infrastructure (Canada), Obrascón Huarte Lain, S.A., Dalkia Canada Inc and Laing O’Rourke PLC.
