The directors of Operis are grieved to announce that Hugh Daniel, a well-known figure within the UK, North American and European infrastructure markets, died suddenly on Saturday 22nd May 2010.
After reading Computer Science at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, Hugh joined Arthur Andersen, where he qualified as a chartered accountant and ATII. Following finance roles within companies specialising in advertising, sales promotion and recruitment, he formed in 1990 the partnership that, since incorporation in 1997, has traded as Operis. He was instrumental in developing Operis into a market leader in the provision of financial modelling and model auditing service, particularly the development of the Operis brand in the US and Canada in recent years.
David Colver, cofounder and now chairman of Operis, and former Cambridge classmate of Hugh, said that “Though Hugh had withdrawn from Operis’s day to day operations in late 2009, the taking from us of so much larger than life a personality at so early an age, a colleague for nearly twenty years and a friend for over thirty, is a shocking and unexpected event.”
Operis sends its deepest sympathies to Hugh’s family and friends
