One of the first projects to be tendered under the UK’s PFI was the A19 road, which reached financial close in October 1996. The A19 concession was awarded to the Autolink consortium which financed the design, build, maintenance and operation of 6.4 kilometres of additional lanes on the existing dual carriageway of the A19, along with maintenance of a further 118 km.
The project was refinanced in 2001 and Operis carried out a model audit at that time. Operis has recently audited the operating model for the project on behalf of the project sponsor, Sir Robert McAlpine, and the senior lenders to the project.
