BC Healthcare Solutions submitted its bid for the Surrey Memorial Hospital P3 Project on 15 September 2010.
Surrey Memorial Hospital is a publicly funded hospital in the city of Surrey in British Columbia, Canada that began operations in 1959. The project involves the construction and management of a new critical care tower at the hospital.
The proposed 65,652 square foot facility will have a new emergency department and will increase capacity by around five times its current size. The building will include a separate children’s ER, specialised mental health and geriatric units, an enhanced minor treatment unit and an improved area for acute patients. It will also include a neonatal intensive care unit, an expanded maternity ward and new obstetric beds.
Construction on the new hospital is expected to begin in 2011 and open in 2013, creating over 3,760 jobs.
BC Healthcare Solutions consortium comprises of Bouygues Building Canada Inc, ETDE Facility Management Canada and HSBC Infrastructure III LP. Scotia Capital acted as financial advisors.
Operis completed a model audit and tax and accounting review on behalf of the consortium.
