Operis assisted the University of Toronto with Project Leap by providing a formal model audit prior to financial close.
Project Leap will cut St. George campus carbon emissions in half by 2027, accelerating U of T’s journey to becoming climate positive. Project Leap involves deep energy retrofits of several energy-intensive buildings, replacing natural gas with electricity for heating, integrating with U of T’s newly built geoexchange system, and extensive LED lighting retrofits.
The $138 million project is being jointly funded by U of T, the Canada Infrastructure Bank, and the Royal Bank of Canada, and has received grants from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).
Operis is pleased to have provided support for this exciting project and we extend our congratulations to all parties involved in its successful launch.
