Operis is delighted to complete a formal model audit and sales tax review in support of the financial close for the Valley Line West LRT project in Edmonton, Alberta. The consortium, Marigold Infrastructure Partners, comprised of Colas and Parson Inc., reached financial close in December following its successful bid to the City of Edmonton in October 2020, for which Operis also provided a full model audit.
The project involves a 14km extension of the LRT line that will connect downtown Edmonton to the Lewis Farms neighbourhood in the city’s west end. There are 14 new stops and two elevated stations connecting key places such as the West Edmonton Mall, Misericordia Hospital, NorQuest College and MacEwan University. The project will include a 2.1km elevated track as well as two maintenance and storage facilities. The construction is planned to start in the summer of 2021, with completion scheduled for late 2026.
Financial close for this design-build-finance project was successfully achieved on December 2020.
