RWE Supply & Trading, a German utility company, have recently invested in a planned solar farm located near Kencot Hill in Oxfordshire, UK.
The 129-acre site, which was previously a former RAF station, will consist of 144,000 solar panels.
As RWE’s first UK based solar venture, the 37MW plant is expected to generate enough electricity to power 10,000 local homes and businesses. With a planned completion date in late summer 2014, RWE plan to sell the solar farm to Foresight Solar Fund Limited for approximately £50 million.
