A consortium of Bouygues UK and Equitix has been successful in its bid to be appointed as preferred development partner to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for the design, re-build, financing and maintenance of the Bankside House Residence.
Operis is acting as sole financial advisor to the consortium and provided financial and commercial support throughout the competitive tender process run by the LSE.
LSE Bankside House is located behind the Tate Modern and will contain approximately 2,000 new student units following the redevelopment. LSE will work with the consortium to appoint a design team ahead of planning applications in 2025 with construction completion targeted ahead of the 2030/31 academic year. Sustainability will be a priority for the consortium and LSE, which is the UK’s first verified carbon-neutral university.
Chris Aldred, Director in Operis’s Financial Advisory team said: “We have been fortunate to work with Bouygues/Uliving and Equitix across a number of successful student accommodation schemes over the last decade, and we look forward to continuing this relationship on this landmark Bankside scheme.”
