The preferred bidder for the A6 Havendreef-Almere Buiten-Oost road PPP project was announced on 15th March 2016.
A consortium comprised of Dura Vermeer, Besix and John Laing won the bid to design, build, finance and maintain an extension of the A6 road between Almere Havendreef and Almere Buiten-Oost in the Netherlands. The project, costing approximately €230 million to construct, is the 4th phase of the Schiphol-Amsterdam-Almere (SAA) road widening project to be tendered by The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (Rijkswaterstaat).
The improvements will see the current 2×2-lane motorway reconstructed to a 4×2 lane motorway, along with the construction of viaducts and crossings. The availability payment project will have a concession length of 20 years and is likely to be fully operational by the start of 2020.
On behalf of a bidding consortium, TransAlmere, consisting of VolkerWessels and Boskalis, Operis were pleased to undertake an audit of the financial model, including a full review of the model’s tax and accounting assumptions.
