Operis was invited to review an operational model of Peel Ports Division, a subsidiary of the Peel Ports Group. The project was commissioned on behalf of RREEF, the global alternative investments business of Deutsche Asset Management.
Peel Ports Division is the second largest ports group in the UK handling over 40 million tonnes per annum. Peel Ports operate the ports of Mersey Docks & Harbour Company, Clydeport, the Manchester Ship Canal and Medway Ports, providing a broad range of port facilities and services to shippers and cargo owners. In November 2006, RREEF Infrastructure acquired 49.9% of the Peel Ports Group in a multi-million pound investment.
Operis evaluated selected parts of the Peel Ports operational model, reviewed its functionality as well as verified operational, financial and economic assumptions. Having made a thorough assesment of the model’s integrity and logic, Operis provided RREEF with a Letter of Comfort.
