The consortium consisting of Bouygues UK Limited, Ecovert FM and Barclays Infrastructure Fund have submitted their final bid for the Papworth Hospital PFI project.
Papworth Hospital is the UK’s largest specialist cardiothoracic hospital and was home to the country’s first successful heart transplant operation. The Papworth NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to relocate the hospital from its current location to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with the hope that this co-location will provide patients a wider range of services and allow for greater research opportunities. The relocated facility to be opening in 2016 will be compromised of 300 beds, 5 theatres, 5 catheter laboratories and approximately 30 outpatient consulting rooms.
Bouygues are bidding to design, build, finance and operate the new Papworth Hospital over a 30 year concession period. Operis was engaged by the consortium to audit of the financial model built by Investec Bank.
