The Pan American Games Athletes’ Village PPP project reached financial close on 14 December 2011.
The project includes the design and construction of the accommodation and additional facilities, such as a media centre, transport mall and polyclinic, for the 8500 athletes and officials who will take part in the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.
Once the games are over, the village will become a mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly riverside community, including affordable housing. The aim is for the neighbourhood to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification for the design and construction of the facilities. LEED standards focus on healthy indoor environments, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and efficient use of resources.
OPERIS conducted financial model auditing services on behalf of the sponsors, Dundee Kilner Developments Ltd, and the lenders.
