The German A9 road project reached financial close on 21 September 2011.
The project involves the widening of a 19km section of the A9 motorway in the Thuringia region of Germany and the maintenance of a 46.5km section of this road. Construction expected to be complete towards the end of 2014 with concession period lasting twenty years.
Senior debt is being provided by BBVA and KfW IPEX. The total senior facility size is EUR 100.35m, with a junior funds bridge facility of EUR 11.78m. The debt is split equally between the two banks.
Operis performed a model audit for the project including a review of the tax and accounting treatment.
