The Hertfordshire PFI Residual Waste Management Contract reached financial close on 27 July 2011.
Veolia Environmental Services plans to develop a combined facility that will remove recyclable material from the residual waste stream before recovering energy from the remainder and minimising its disposal to landfill, helping the council meet its statutory targets of diverting solid waste from landfill. The waste management facility is expected to be fully operational by March 2015.
Operis provided financial model auditing services including a tax and accounting review on behalf of Veolia and Hertfordshire County Council.
