Operis recently provided a financial model to Aspire Defence, the SPV for Project Allenby/Connaught.  The project, the MOD’s largest infrastructure defence project procured through the PFI scheme, provides accommodation and training facilities across the garrisons of Aldershot and Salisbury Plain benefiting the quality of life for 18,700 soldiers stationed in the UK.

Aspire Defence was jointly set up by Carillion and KBR in March 2006, when construction began.  £1.5 billion worth of facilities and barracks are targeted to be operational by mid-2014, and many new accommodation buildings have already been constructed and are in use today.

Operis built the operating model for the benefit of Aspire Defence, which is used for both forecasting and storing historical data.  The model has the added specification of being able to be provide both UK GAAP-compliant statements and IFRS-compliant statements.
