Bids for Phase IV of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, located 50 kilometers south of the city of Dubai, were submitted on June 5, 2017.

The 200MW Concentrated Solar Power IPP project is part of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, by which the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) aims to generate 75 percent of Dubai’s total power from clean energy by 2050.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, based on the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model, is the largest single-site solar energy project in the world. The 13MW first phase became operational in 2013, whilst the 200MW second phase and 800MW third phase are under construction and due to become operational in 2017 and 2020 respectively. The 200MW fourth phase is scheduled to be operational by 2021.

On behalf of Alfanar Energy and Beijing Shouhang IFW Resources, Operis was pleased to provide a high-level review of the financial model prior to bid submission.
