Operis provided a formal model audit of the financial model in support of the financial close for the rehabilitation of the Louis-Hippolyte-LaFontaine Tunnel in Québec. Earlier this year, Renouveau La Fontaine, a consortium comprised of Pomerleau, Eurovia and Dodin, submitted its successful bid to Transport Quebec for which Operis also provided a full model audit.
The tunnel is a strategic road link for passenger and freight transportation for the metropolitan region, Québec, and Canada. It is an integral part of Autoroute 25 (A-25) and links the eastern side of the Island of Montréal and Longueuil through île Charron in Boucherville. The project will include the replacement of the concrete screed, installing a protective coating that will protect the structure from salt spray and tyres, as well as the modernisation of operating systems, such as lighting, electrical systems and fire protection systems.
Financial close for this design-build-finance project was successfully achieved on July 14, 2020.
