On January 26, 2017, the Acciona-led consortium submitted its bids for the Lions Gate Secondary Wastewater Treatment Plant P3 in North Vancouver. The project is being procured by the Greater Vancouver Sewerage and Drainage District under the design-build-finance P3 model. It is estimated a preferred bidder will be announced later this month, with financial close following shortly thereafter in April 2017.
The Lions Gate Secondary Wastewater project is one of several wastewater deals currently in procurement in Canada, demonstrating that in recent months water has become one of the priority sectors for this market. Operis has had the opportunity to work on many of these Canadian wastewater deals and is currently advising bidders on two projects, McLoughlin Wastewater and Hamilton Biosolids, each looking to reach financial close in early 2017.
