The Kuvaninga Energia transaction involves a 40 MW ten engine gas-fired power plant, situated on a five hectare site near the town of Chokwe in Mozambique. It also includes a 27 km, 110 kV transmission line to transport power from the plant to the Lionde substation, the nearest interconnection point on the local electricity supply grid. Enventure has co-developed the $82 million project alongside Investec Bank, which will involve the construction and ongoing maintenance of the plant.
Financial close was reached on November 30, 2013, with the construction period running until early 2015, at which point the plant will be fully operational.
Operis undertook a formal model audit, including a complete review of the model’s tax and accounting treatments.
