On October 22, 2018,  Marubeni submitted their bid for the Ibri II Solar Plant in Oman. The 500MW plant will supply an estimated 33,000 homes with electricity and offset 340,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

The bid outcome is expected to be announced before the end of 2018, with the plant scheduled to become operational in 2021. Once operational, Oman Electricity Transmission Company will purchase 100MW power from Ibri II under a 23-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

Operis were pleased to perform a financial model audit on behalf of Marubeni, which included a review of the model’s tax treatments.
