The Brentwood Community Hopital PFI project involves the refurbishment of the existing hospital, with the objective to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ of modern health services.
The hospital stands on the same a parcel of land which was formerly part of the great Middleton Hall estate, donated to the people of Brentwood by Mr Geoffrey Bayman in 1931, with the condition it was used for the building of a new hospital.
The improved facility will result in a more patient friendly environment, much higher quality reception and treatment areas than is achievable with the current accommodation and more appropriate and effective relationships between departments, including better communication channels.
The consortium funding the £30m project comprised the construction firm Kajima, along with Barclays Bank.
Operis’s involvement encompassed financial model due diligence, and tax and accounting advice. The project closed on 29 June 2006.
