The BEA3X consortium, comprising BAM PPP, VolkerInfra and DIF, today submitted their financial BAFO for the Beatrix Lock PPP project in the north of the Netherlands.
The project involves the design and build of a third lock next to the existing Beatrix Lock in the Dutch municipality Nieuwegein. The lock is an important shipping link between the river Lek and the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. In addition to the third lock, the Lek Canal will be widened and an additional berthing space will be provided.
The EIB has indicated that it may provide up to 50% of the senior debt requirement for the project. The remaining 50% will be provided by commercial funders. An announcement on preferred bidder is expected in November 2015.
In support of BEA3X consortium’s bid, Operis was pleased to provide modelling and financial advisory services.
