Final bids were submitted today for the Midlands Priority Schools Project, a programme set up to address the needs of schools most in need of urgent repair within the Midlands region, England.
This is the fifth and final private finance batch of phase 1 of the Priority Schools Building Programme in England. Operis are financial advisors to the Carillion Equitix consortium. This consortium is competing with two others for a contract to deliver 8 secondary schools in the Midlands with the first school being Top Valley Academy in Nottingham.
In the role as financial advisor to the consortium, Operis will assist in obtaining an investment grade credit rating for the project and raising senior debt finance from the priority schools aggregator.
The Education Funding Agency will name a preferred bidder for the batch in December 2014 ahead of Financial Close in August 2015.
