On 11 May 2016, the Clyde Valley Residual Waste Project reached financial close.
Viridor Waste Management will design, build, finance, operate and maintain a residual waste treatment facility in the Clyde Valley area of Scotland. The waste centre will have the capacity to process around 190,000 tonnes of waste per annum.
Authorities involved in the project are East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire Councils.
Procured by North Lanarkshire, the contract will have an operational period of 25 years and the service commencement date is anticipated to be 1 December 2019.
In support of Viridor’s transaction, Operis was pleased to undertake an audit of the financial model which included a review of the model’s tax and accounting treatments.
