Bids were submitted for the Westermost Rough OFTO, on February 5, 2015.
The winning bidder will be granted a licence to own and operate the transmission links to two offshore windfarms, both located in the North Sea off the coast of Yorkshire, England.
The transmission system, which includes an offshore substation platform, offshore and onshore AC export cables and an onshore substation, will supply power to an estimated 150,000 homes over the next 20 years.
This project is part of Ofgem’s OFTO scheme, to fund more windfarms with private finance to help meet the UK’s renewable energy targets.
In support of the Balfour Beatty Equitix Consortium’s bid, Operis were pleased to undertake a high level review of the financial model.
