Bids were submitted on October 3, 2014 for the first closed-loop fully integrated organic waste management system in North America.
At a construction cost of C$70 million, this project is part of a larger push from the city to minimise waste and increase its eco credentials in Surrey, British Columbia.
The winning bidder will construct and operate the facility for a period of 27 years while managing the waste collection.
