The Zeughausareal Burgdorf PPP project involves the design, construction, financing and maintenance of a new 110-cell regional prison in the Swiss canton of Bern. The buildings at the existing site will be demolished and the project will also provide a municipal complex and an administrative centre.
The construction period will last for two and a half years, followed by a 25 year operational phase. The private sector partner will provide energy, food and cleaning services to the completed facilities.
