Bids were submitted for the design, build, financing and operation of two power plants in Oman on August 30, 2015.
Ibri and Sohar III are steam electric cogenerational plants with a combined capacity of around 2,650MW which have been commissioned by the Oman Water and Power Procurement Company as part of the Emirate’s endeavour to become more self-sustaining. Sohar III is planned to become fully operational in January 2019, with Ibri following three months later.
In support of the bid made by a consortium comprised of Marubeni, Chubu, Nebras and Multitech, Operis were pleased to undertake an audit of the financial model which included a review of the model’s tax and accounting treatments to Omani regulations.
