The Protea Parkways Consortium submitted its bid for the N1-N2 Winelands Toll Road in South Africa in July. The consortium comprises Bouygues, African Infrastructure Investment Managers, Basil Read, and Group Five.
The project involves the upgrading, maintenance and operation of the N1 and N2 National Routes in the Western Cape. The proposed concession route along the N1 extends from just west of the R300 through to Sandhills. The N2 portion of the proposed toll road concession extends from just west of the R300 to Bot River. The concession length will be twenty seven years, including a two year construction period.
