April 2008 saw financial close reached for the Aston Student Villages Project in Birmingham.
The Aston Student Village will create a vibrant new district comprising high-quality student and staff residential units, University administration offices, retail space, student ancillary and amenity services, car parking, sports facilities and new public plazas adjacent to Birmingham’s new quarter for learning, technology and heritage, Eastside.
The project consists of the design, construction, financing and operation of several new college campuses in Aston. The concession length is 38 years with construction to start immediately, in order to be ready for the September 2010 academic year.
Operis provided model due diligence advice on the project’s financial model, delivering an opinion to the Bank of Scotland, who was appointed to arrange the financing for this £200 million project.
