Phase 2A of the Lancashire Building Schools for the Future project successfully reached financial close in Manchester on Friday 4th July 2008.

This £55m project is part of a Government plan to build sustainable secondary schools throughout England and will be delivered via a 27-year PFI agreement. Phase 2A involves the construction and maintenance of two new secondary schools: Marsden Heights Community College in Pendle opening in April 2010 and Unity College in Burnley opening in September 2010. Together the schools will accommodate over 2,000 pupils.

Operis reviewed the financial model on behalf of the project sponsors, Building Schools for the Future Investments, Lancashire County Council, Catalyst Lend Lease and the lenders, Dexia.
