THE CONTRACT II.1) DESCRIPTION II.1.1) Title attributed to the

works: Aldershot, NUTS code: UKJ33 . II.1.3) The notice involves: A public contract. II.1.4) Information on framework
agreement: II.1.5) Short description of the
contract or purchase(s): The phased design and
construction of 471 residential units to Code Level 4 Requirements, with 3
commercial units and community facilities including access roads, amenity
open space and all associated works and with the potential for 226
residential units in future phases. The initial tender and appointment will
relate purely to phase 1 of the scheme which equates
to approximately 58 units. The works are to be phased, the performance of the contractor will reviewed
between the phases of the project, to ensure their continued involvement. The works must also
offer training and employment opportunities for local people. The Employer has
appointed a Design Team to obtain a Planning Approval the early phases may
have detailed design commissioned by the Client and it will be a condition
that the Architects continual involvement is maintained by the Contractor,
but there will not be a formal novation. A quality scheme is to
be produced and materials and design elements have been introduced to satisfy
this requirement. The Contractor will not remove or change any such features
without the Employer's consent. Significant Resident
Consultation has been undertaken and will continue throughout the Contract
Period. The Contractor will be responsible for ensuring these occur and must
demonstrate their proposed approach. The site, which is
subject to the current Planning Application will be phased, as mentioned
above, however, it is the intention to have further phases covering the
adjacent section of the site, increasing the redevelopment to approximately
700 units. It will be a key
criteria that the interested party and selected contractor is willing and has
the ability to take responsibility for the redevelopment of the site in
respect any units for sale and private development. II.1.6) Common procurement
