Short description of the contract or purchase(s):

Anglia Ruskin University is seeking expressions of interest from private sector operators to design, build, finance and operate additional residential student accommodation in Cambridge. The University does not have any sites available on which to locate the new accommodation and it is essential, therefore that prospective bidders can provide their own sites for this scheme. The University wishes at least some of the new accommodation to be available for occupation in September 2011.

The scheme/s must:

a) provide a minimum of 50 new build residential student accommodation bed spaces in a single location;

b) potentially Anglia Ruskin University is seeking to souce 1 000 residential student accommodation bed spaces, however we reserve the right to expand or decrease this requirement;

c) be located within the Cambridge City area and offer good access to the Anglia Ruskin University campus on East Road, Cambridge with easily accessible and frequent public transport facilities;

d) provide a range of accommodation including cluster flats which should make up the majority of the total scheme;

e) provide a room space standard to relect a high quality development that is affordable to students;

f) set high standards of architectural design and incorporate both internal and external social and recreational space;

g) be amde available to Anglia Ruskin University via a nomination/referral agreement that will ensure that the transaction is off balance sheet.
