Northern Rail is procuring via the negotiated procedure a party or parties to supply and maintain a fleet of Diesel / Electric Tram Trains to be operated on a trial on the UK Rail Network and potentially on street running. Northern Rail wish to procure the supply of vehicles, maintenance and finance. Further details and specifications will be available to appropriate suppliers within the Invitation to Tender Expressions of interest are invited from organisations that can demonstrate : A. Having the technical capability and financial standing to supply and manage the complete package of rolling stock delivery, finance and maintenance (potentially including facilities); or B. Capability to arrange the finance necessary for the acquisition and ownership of the rolling stock in conjunction with a suitable manufacturer to supply rolling stock to undertake the trial. Northern Rail will consider proposals for options to design, build, and / or finance and / or maintain the fleet.
