Short description of the contract or purchase(s):

 

A contract is required to provide all aspects of support for the Cycle Training Standards Board (CTSB), covering: its administration and finances; programme management of its work programme; project management of working groups. The work will include servicing the CTSB which meets every other month or so and maintaining contact with the Board and with sub groups by email between Board meetings. CTSB is the governing body for overseeing the establishment and development of the national cycle training standards (Bikeability). The chosen contractor will also be responsible for overseeing a scheme for recognising the CTSB's Accrediting Bodies, and in England only, an inspection regime which inspects a proportion of all schemes in England annually, to ensure the delivery to the national standard and that Bikeability are maintaining standards and have the right quality control mechanisms in place to ensure ongoing continuity in delivering the standard. The contract is intended to run from September 2008 until March 2011 with an option of a one year renewal which would be subject to performance.
