description of the contract or purchase(s): Integrated
network management, maintenance and improvement activities on the all purpose
trunk roads and motorways in the Agency area. The duties will include all
routine and cyclic road and bridges maintenance works including winter
maintenance and delivery of capital schemes up to 500 000 GBP in the Agency
area. Duties will also include the provision of planning advice, design,
co-ordination and supervision of maintenance and improvement schemes within
specified values up to a limit of 5 000 000 GBP,
and to manage works above these values if so instructed, with ongoing
development of customer service provision in accordance with HA's standards and objectives. The provider may also be
required to carry out duties relating to the management, maintenance,
improvement and undertaking of works to electrical and electronic systems on
motorways and trunk roads. The work will be carried out under the supervision
of the Highways Agency in Bedford to whom reports will be made. II.1.5) Common
