As part of a major redevelopment programme at the Trust, the Planning Directorate now seeks to establish a framework supplier for key security and life safety systems with its new build and refurbishment projects; these systems are expected to be Panic attack alarm (fixed and mobile solutions), Access Control and CCTV. The trust's current new build project - the Wandsworth Acute Unit - will be used as the trial site for the implementation of the systems and the basis upon which tenderers are requested to pice.

The South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust serves a local population of about one million people from five south London boroughs (Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth). It is headquartered at Springfield Hospital. The Trust employs over 2 500 staff and runs eight main hospitals. It provides a comprehensive mental health and social care service across the five boroughs along with a range of specialist services. The Trust cares for about 18 000 patients: the hospitals have a total of over 750 beds and 30 Community Mental Health teams support patients in the community and at home.

The Trust's Planning Directorate carries out four major functions: Facilities Management, Property Management, Major Capital Projects and smaller Capital Projects.
