Following a major review, the Authority embarked upon a major programme to provide an Estate which can meet the operational needs of the police force for the Greater Manchester area. The police force is maintained by the Authority and it required a design build finance and operate solution to the provision of a number of police facilities. The contract was awarded under the Private Finance Initiative and was supported by the Home Office.

The services covered by this contract are in categories 1, 12, 14, 17, 20 and 27.

The value of the contract is approximately 250 000 000, excluding VAT.
