  • German A7 II Motorway Reaches Financial Close

    18 April 2017

The 30-year availability-based deal involves the DBFMO of a 60km stretch of road between Bockenem and Göttingen, including a 29km expansion from four to six lanes of the existing A7 motorway. Construction is due to start in May 2017 and is expected to be completed before the end of 2020.

A consortium of Vinci Concessions and Meridiam was named preferred bidder by the government of Lower Saxony in February 2017. Financial close was reached on April 11, 2017, involving a EUR 420m debt package with five lenders: The EIB, KfW IPEX-Bank, DZ Bank, Development Bank of Japan and CaixaBank, with the German federal government also providing EUR 126m of grant funding for the project.

Operis were pleased to carry out a financial model audit on behalf of the sponsors and lenders.
