Veolia Submits Waste Services Contract Bid Submission on North London Waste

Veolia has submitted its bid for the Waste Services Contract of the North London Waste project. This is the second part of the authorities’ waste PFI contract, which is separated into Waste Services and Fuel Use contracts.

The project is being tendered by North London Waste Authority, a partnership involving the London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest. The project, which will have a concession period of 30 years, forms part of the authority’s efforts to recycle half of its waste by 2020.

This combined area forms UK’s second largest producer of municipal waste, handling around a million tonnes per annum. It is also co-owner of the largest operational energy-from-water plant in the country.

Operis earlier worked with Veolia on the Fuel Use aspect of this transaction, and backed-up this by providing model auditing and tax and accounting review services for their bid submission.
