Northumberland Waste Scheme reaches financial close.

 

The Northumberland Waste Scheme Project completed financial close on Tuesday the 19th December 2006.

 

This PFI scheme is a 28 year DBFO and includes a waste to energy conversion plant, waste collection processing, a new recycling plant and a third waste incinerator at an existing facility. Construction is due to start immediately.

 

The financing includes a £90m term-loan for a 26-year tenor. The Royal Bank of Scotland, advised by Ashurst, is the sole arranger for the £115m project.

 

Operis provided financial modelling due diligence services on behalf of the lenders.
